What We Do
Located on the Rondout Creek in Kingston, New York, the Rondout Rowing Club was formed in 1999 by folks who wanted to row and to bring rowing to the community. It has grown to approximately 50 rowers aged 13 to 70+ and all abilities.
The club now owns 3 eights (a boat for eight rowers), 2 fours, a double (rigged to scull) and a single. The club also owns a safety launch. We keep our boats at the Hudson Maritime Museum and take them with a specially designed cart to the docks under the Port Ewen suspension bridge for launch.
Rowers gather at 5:30 in the morning to be on the water before 6am, though it’s often possible to catch the second leg of the row at 7 am. There are also regular rows at 5:30 pm most weekdays, midday rows and a 7 am row on Saturday morning.
Some row every day and some row less. Our members enjoy the exercise, the camaraderie and the beautiful scenery. RRC is proud to support the Kingston High School Crew Club.
